Cough Bee Gone

We've been blessed so far this winter season, with not too much sickness. Just the basic reoccurring coughs and sniffles, but nothing too terribly bad.
This past week, Miss Bittles got the aforementioned cough, and we made a trip to the doctor just to make sure everything was ok.
She was diagnosed with "a cold." And because she's three, she still can't take the over the counter cough suppressants.
So, our doctor told us to give her a half teaspoon of honey before bedtime. (that's all NATURAL honey, not the kind in the bear shaped container with extra ingredients). I had never before heard of this, and must have looked a bit skeptical, but he swore that there had been "studies" done and it was found to make a difference.
We decided to give it a whirl, and much to my surprise, it worked! It really worked!!
So, it leads me to wonder, what other natural remedies for minor ailments am I missing out on?
Do tell.

Garlic cures everything! :) Check out www.welltellme.com sometime when you have a minute or two to spare. There is LOADS of good info there on natural healing, and its a mostly Christian, homeschooling forum.

Vicks Vaporub on the bottoms of the feet, covered in socks will take care of most nighttime coughs.

My dad swears by the honey one! Honey is also great for allergies. Thing is, it must be all natural from within 60 miles of where you live.....so it has the allergens from the area in it or something like that.

I've heard of the vicks vapor rub on your feet too!

A very good natural "antibiotic" is colloidial silver. I gargle with it at the first sign of a cold and can usually head it off before it gets to be a real problem.
