It's Spring Break.
The husband was gone the first three days of the week, so the rest of us busied ourselves with playdates, mario cart, movies, and a little shopping.
Our "out of town" trip was planned for today through Saturday, but a weird twist in the weather caused a postponement of our outdoorsy scheduled events. So, we made some adjustments, and planned a stay-in-town-and-have-fun kind of few days. (Which not only saves QUITE a bit of cash, but also saves us from the what-seems-like-eternity car ride with four children who I love dearly, but tend to get crazy on road trips. So, all in all, not too bad.)
Tonight we had a "camp in". Much like a camp-out, but we set up camp in the living room instead. We put up the tent, grilled hot dogs, made smores over candle flames, and watched a movie. (Ponyo, which I might add, is a very WEIRD show.)
Tomorrow we will continue our fun with a bowling adventure, and a possible trip to a pancake house. And who know where else we'll end up.
I love the breaks like this that get us out of our normal, busy everydayness, and allow us to enjoy fun time together in different kinds of ways. Memory making at its best.
